You are never too old to learn. Depending on the skill level, an adult may be able to learn to acquire the following skills… and more:
Shopping for groceries.
Folding their clothes.
Loading a dishwasher.
Using a washing machine to wash their clothes.
Sweeping a floor.
Vacuuming.
Many everyday activities, such as grocery shopping, folding laundry, and loading a dishwasher, involve a series of foundational skills that can be taught when an individual is developmentally ready to learn them. For individuals with autism or other neurodivergent disabilities, these adaptive living skills may present additional challenges. A behavior analyst can assess the behavioral routine to identify the specific skills that are limiting success and develop targeted interventions to strengthen those areas, allowing the entire routine to become more efficient, independent, and successful.
